We are in the process of adding quite a few videos to this page that have to do with trading. And by that we mean....training, seminars, strategies.....and also entertainment type videos.
Lets face it, sometimes we need to chill out after a long week and want a break from our charts.....but then again, we may enjoy sitting back and watching a movie......that has trading intertwined into the theme.
Something to note about the video section and the videos listed on this page. We are a Christian Trading group, but we live in a modern day society. I am not condoning some of the content that you may find in a movie that was produced for the secular world. With that being said, I highly encourage you to click on a video cover that you may be interested in......and check out its rating. For the most part, these videos are about the same thing that you would expect to see on TV these days.....which isn't saying a lot. But I am not here to tell you what to watch and what not to watch. I am simply sharing with you some videos that have trading intertwined in the movie. You need to check the ratings if you feel that watching a secular type movie may be offensive or not.
Traders - The Complete First Season - is one of my favorites and it is not currently available on Amazon.....except for a used but like new condition one, which at the time that I am writing this....is available. BUT.....this is a great series and I don't think that the second season will come out on DVD. It is trading from the inside out. The series is based on an Investment Banking firm and you get to see them set up companies to go public.....and watch them make a market in order to peddle off the stock to the general public. I really like this series and I am sure that you will too. But......you may have to search for it. As I said, there is one copy available today on Amazon. After that one goes......well I guess searching for it or going to eBay would be an option as well. If you like to collect videos about trading......you will want this one. So I put it at the top of the list.....but you may have to work a little to get your copy. I assure you though....it will be worth the effort. The Bank - is a video that you just may enjoy in today's unpopular world of banking, foreclosures and out of control investing. And then comes an individual who wants to get back at the bank! So what follows is a flurry of Fibonacci, algorithms and......well you will want to watch it for your self. Oh....and you can rent it or buy it! Wall Street Warriors - Season I - is a series that was done on several different types of traders.....and the camera follows them through out there days.....and then portrays their life style on the weekend. It is entertaining to see that others struggle day to day.....and then again it is nice to see the success that some of them have enjoyed. There is some language....I guess suited for some traders.....but other than that, this is a nice video to add to your collection. Wall Street Warriors - Season II - is the continuation of the journey following various traders. Gee.....if you liked season 1, how could you not grab season 2? (Click on the DVD cover to see more information and see the reviews on it)
Wall Street - The infamous trading movie on greed, insider trading and the life styles of the rich and shameless. But we love it anyway. I am sure you have already watched it.....but if you haven't.....uhhhh you need to get it for your library. It is a classic! Wall Street The Money Never Sleeps - is the sequel to the original Wall Street and in my opinion is so much better than the first one. In addition to the inclusion of the present day melt down and corruption, it was just better acting and well......it's just a better movie. The first Wall Street....I'll watch once in a while.....like every two years......but the Wall Street The Money Never Sleeps is just a movie that I can watch over and over again. Rogue Trader - used to seem far fetched.......I mean do you really think it would be possible for a single trader to do so much damage? Well since I saw this movie, I have seen at least three more traders get in so much trouble, that you again have to question whether or not this could actually happen. But it did....and it does. It is sobering as a trader, to watch another trader get so far in over his head. Yet again......a video that needs to be in our library. Floored - is a documentary that shows how the switch from floor trading at the exchanges has been drastically impacted by the newer and more high tech off the floor computer based trading. The majority of those interviewed and followed by the cameras have either given up, or at best......struggled to make the change. We as traders must be able to adapt quickly to market condition changes. And the world is changing.....especially where it concerns trading. I for one sat and watched this video...several times I might add......and was amazed that these traders could not make the change over. I would have thought that it would be a natural and more beneficial change. But you have to watch this video to see for yourselves.....and remember......traders need to be able to adapt to changes in the market quickly. Dealers - is a movie about traders in England and it actually has a plot and everything. It is an older movie but it is about trading......the good, the bad and the ugly. You can rent it or buy it but movies like this....about trading......will disappear as they get older. So you may want to pick it up for the library. Trading Places - with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd is a classic......a little goofy at times....but a classic. Then there is the underlying argument.....is a good trader born or is he created or trained. Hmmmmm.... But to me the absolute best part of the movie is at the end. And you may have to watch the end a few times to really get what they were doing. Traders know that market makers exist and that to some extent they manipulate the market. Well trading is a business and there are some who specialize in different aspects of that business. But at the end......the market makers are out to do one thing and one thing only. But you have to watch it in order to find out what that is. But the important thing is.....how they do that. (Click on the DVD cover to see more information and see the reviews on it)
A Good Year - is a great movie. Here is a chance for you to cuddle up with your wife on the couch and watch something that you both will enjoy. Russell Crowe is a bond trader and his assistant is hilarious at playing with this energetic trader. Well what else can I say......I really like this movie and if you haven't seen it before.....you will enjoy it as well. Jungle To Jungle - is a great movie if you are hanging out with your kids......but.....you are thinking about trading. Well it's funny.....because Tim Allen is in it....and in this movie he is a rather busy and successful Coffee Trader. But.....what happens next is really far away from the Coffee trading world.
